Enron "The smartest Guys in the Room"
While we watched documentary called “Enron, The smartest Guys in the Room”, I personally felt little bit boring. But, as soon as I try to enjoy and understand, I found something cool facts.
First, I was shock at how much Enron Company grow fast. And it’s similar with what we discussed from last year our Global Ethics class. We discussed about War-mart.
How do they marketing and how do they their businesses. So, the following result was huge. War-mart has a lot of different shops around world, plus a lot of employs. Now, I want go back to Enron. This company grew up 1.700% with in 15 years. But, interesting facts is that we don’t know why big company such as Enron fell down.
Second, I could make my self to think about government systems again. Kennety Lay who was CEO of Enron closed with George W. Bush and Richard B. Cheney.
Based on what I researched about relationship between George W. Bush and Kennety Lay, I found interesting facts. Until George W. Bush get a president of United State, He got about 600,000 US dollars from Lay.
I still don’t get the real points of Enron’s documentary, But, One thing I found my self to know is that, clear business and be honest is always stands for right answer for safety business.
Kenneth Lay(April 15, 1942 – July 5, 2006) was an American businessman, best known for his role in the widely-reported corruption scandal that led to the downfall of Enron Corporation. He died in Snowmass, Colorado

good two connections on the wal-mart and the government. I didn't realy understand why George Bush was in the movie, but now I get it. :) I agree with the most important thing in business is honesty!! good post JIMBO KIMBO~~
good connections bewteeen wal-mart, and between the government. I also agree the most important thing in business is honesty! good post Jimmy Kimmy!!
I was also shocked by how Enron can grow so fast within a short period of time. Not only Enron, but also some big businesses that are developing dramatically in China worries me too.
This is something a little bit irrelevant to Enron: I heard that all the fast food restaurants in China have the fastest growing rate around the world, despite that the economy is slacking now!
Wow I'm surprised at your U.S government research! Now I wonder if Enron was kind of protected by parts of the government then.
It's good that you did some outside research!
Wow, Wal-Mart, I almost forgot about it! Great connections!!
Did you happen to found out how Bush and Lay knew each other? How did they meet?
Did you mispell Wal-mart as War-mart on purpose? :P
This makes me wonder if Wal-mart will one day fall as well. It's basically doing the same thing as Enron, on a longer term and with their own methods.
It makes me sick to think that politics can be related to business, but the reality is that a lot of businesses are supported by the government this way. Corporations can actually be more powerful than the government... isn't that scary?
