The End of Suburbia

Last class in our Global Ethics class, We watched video clip called "The End of Suburbia".
While i watched this movie, I couldn't get idea. But, when we had class discussion, One thing strike me out was "Sustainability" from Global Environment Issue class last year.
Global Environment Issue class focused on pollution and environment. Which is really important facts that we must know logically.

Now, I'm going to talk about one fact that different between US and Taiwan.
One thing i can clearly see is "Transportation"
US has a great Transportation systems that people using it. Although, it's really organize well.
But in Taiwan, Most of peoples are taking motor cycle in state of using Transportation systems.
We know riding a motor cycle is convenient, But It makes a lot of CO2's every year. Which attacks ozone.
I think, Taiwanese governments are not really focused on organizing Transportation systems every where in Taiwan. Because, they ride motor cycle's more than riding public bus.

The reason why Transportation systems are important is because, As soon as people start using transportation systems, We can save our energy and Air pollution. Air pollution is one of the reason that cause of Global Warming, which makes Ice melting and green house effects.

In order to success transportation system, Governments has to come up with Organize plan and they have to make sure advertise well enough to citizens.
We have to be more serious at some problems that we can fix it before everything is turn into
bad situation.

Big Organic and Enron Corporation

Recently, Our Global Ethics class watched movie called "Enron". Last class, We started read One of the chapter from a book called " The Omnivore's Dilemma". Which talks about Organic foods.

The following chapter talks about the principles of organic farming in modern America.
Michael Pollan the author of this book shows that, while organic food has grown in popularity, It's producers have adopted many of the methods of industrial agriculture. While i reading, I found interesting quote.

"How to grow this stuff (Organic foods) without chemicals was a challenge, Especially to city kids coming to the farm or garden with a head hull of pastoral ideals and precisely no horticultural experience."

I just felt that even if we're buying organic foods, chemicals are still inside and City kids like us having chemical foods most of our daily life, which is very familiar.

One fact strike me out was that "While the economic and social distances separating the well-heeled shoppers cruising the aisles at Whole Foods from the un-heeled homeless in people's Park could not be much greater, the two neighborhood institutions are branches of the same unlikely tree."

I mentioned Wal-mart as a example on my Enron blog, But, On this moment I could get interesting points that no matter what kinds of business, It always connect with economic and social distances. Why does Enron fall down? Because of economic issues. But, the difference is Organic food business is hard to fall down unless people won't buy it. But, I just want say that this Organic food is also one of the reason for Wal-mart to survive.

In my conclusion, I felt really hard to understand this book with connections between Enron.
But, I found some interesting questions that he came up with.
"Organic food .. better for what?Taste and for my health."
"Is it also better for environment? the public health? for the tax payer?"

Psychogeography

It’s really interesting to know the word “Psychogeography”. It can be made into deep and thoughtful simply by look throw it and think creatively. When I heard this word, I didn’t get what is psychogeography means, but now I get sort of idea. There is no right or wrong to defined Psychogeography, it’s all based on your thought and your creativity.

Site Specific Performances

This idea makes me to looking back some places that I’ve been before. But, I felt quite happy to find some places inside of school.
Basketball court and roof was really good to have music performance. We don’t feel something crowd, we can feel a lot of freedom and enjoy. I’m the one of the person who is going to have music performance. I feel strong aggressive and I strongly believe that all of students who are going to have performance, they can do tremendous job.

Article: Why Psychogeography?
Guy Debord who was first person called psychogeography, called for an investigation into the effects of the environment (both constructed and natural) on emotions and behavior. I think, it means, whatever we have our emotions and behavior, just put into the art.
I was quite shock at what people does in 1950s and 1960s which represent about Corbusier style modernism. Group of artists, writers, activists, students were attacked city planning as an ideology of organized social isolation. I don’t get why they did that but I guess it’s a part of their thinking and the way they express their feelings.

After I read an article about site that specific performance, one place was strike me out.
I’ve been this place when I was in UK, this place called “Piccadilly Circus.” If we go this place, we can see a lot of street arts. For example, some people painted themselves and try to act like something or some people came out with some props and do some act.
This place is also famous in UK and has long history.

Skype with Erica
It was awesome opportunity to have interview with her. One thing I felt really fun was we used cloths and have some different act. I put purple jacket top of my head, and tried to be a famous pop star. Although, she want Angus and I were act something images with two different motions. First motion was normal speed and the other one was slow motion, which makes creative.

Enron "The smartest Guys in the Room"

While we watched documentary called “Enron, The smartest Guys in the Room”, I personally felt little bit boring. But, as soon as I try to enjoy and understand, I found something cool facts.

First, I was shock at how much Enron Company grow fast. And it’s similar with what we discussed from last year our Global Ethics class. We discussed about War-mart.
How do they marketing and how do they their businesses. So, the following result was huge. War-mart has a lot of different shops around world, plus a lot of employs. Now, I want go back to Enron. This company grew up 1.700% with in 15 years. But, interesting facts is that we don’t know why big company such as Enron fell down.

Second, I could make my self to think about government systems again. Kennety Lay who was CEO of Enron closed with George W. Bush and Richard B. Cheney.
Based on what I researched about relationship between George W. Bush and Kennety Lay, I found interesting facts. Until George W. Bush get a president of United State, He got about 600,000 US dollars from Lay.

I still don’t get the real points of Enron’s documentary, But, One thing I found my self to know is that, clear business and be honest is always stands for right answer for safety business.

Short paragrph after wathing BBC documentary

While I watched this short video clip from the BBC documentary called Blood sweet T-shirts,
I found one fact that relates to the book we just read (Travels of a T shirt in a Global Economy). At the end of video clip, the students experienced working in factory making cloth. It’s very similar with Shang-hai factory in the book. They worked really hard, but the payment isn’t that good. It happens in real society too, mostly because they have trouble between their owner and the workers.

William McDonough- TED

Last class, we watched McDonough's TED talk. As soon as we finished, we began to read a new chapter from Hawken's book. While I watch and read, I had really hard time to get ideas like what's the main idea and what things do I have to get from them. But, one thing I felt really good was when Donough talks about our society from our perspective.
I found a connection from last year GE class.

When humans are starting to live in earth, they invented a lot of things since cave man. But, most amazing invention was using sources, energy and technical devices. As soon as we start use different tools, our society also changed a lot by us. But, have you ever think about real society's problem? How we going to dear with our environment issues? While he give us a presentation, he came up with different questions but I personally felt these two questions are really important and must know it for knowledge.

"How can we secure local society, create world peace and save the environment?" I spend a time to think on this question, but it was hard to say what things we can do. But, after he came up with another question, I got myself an idea.

" How do we love all the children of all species for all time? I think that's our job and homework until the earth disappears.
One thing we can really do is that, educate and make more safety society for our kids and generations. That is what we can really do now. We make most of society problems. Which means, when children's grow to adult, they have possibilities to make another social problems in society. So, we must have our children to make sure educated well on good way or bad way.

I'm not sure my idea is clear enough or connects to our topic, but, I strongly believe that we must keep our species.

Waste not

Before I read this chapter, I thought this story would talk about our waste, but I was wrong. As I looked into it, a lot of thought stroked me, especially when I figured out my internship.

My internship is in PDP LCD Glass site in Tao Yuan Company called CPT. Those PDP Glass factories use tons of chemicals each day for making their products. They dump wastes into water or air. If those companies don't have great systems of dealing with all the wastes, they are contaminating both the water and air, which creates a lot of pollution. All these cause Global Warming.

The reason why I am interested in this chapter is because there are some connections between it and my internship; I can see what's out there in the real world instead of what’s in the books. What I mean by real is that I can actually see how they throw away contaminates. Also, I will learn how to use those machines to either make products or make clean wastes.
I was quite shocked when I read this chapter because of the way author explains about how the amount of our waste are huge and I couldn't get myself over it.

Now, I’m really excited about my internship, which also relates to my senior project. I'm ready to do it and I will share a lot of information with our class.

Inquiry Question,

We spoke about our senior project last class. I personally really interesting in Media.
I spend lots of time to search and think about how it can change to interesting topic.
Finally, i found interesting topic. "How does media affect our society"

This topic will cover with historical of media, how do they change into our daily life and what cause of media in our society now etc. I can't write all of it but, i found my self that really interesting and have to know as a logically. Reason why i choose this topic is because, media is one of the biggest thing and really need for our daily life. They gave us a lot of things. such as news for society, entertain for humorous etc.

On this moment, i got interesting questions as my conclusion, why people watch or need media.
I might do some survey to other students, it's a common things that we are always do and each people got different ideas and reason to why they use media.

Weird T-Shirts

We had research for finding some weird and funny T-shirts. I found pretty interesting Korean “Kuso” t-shirts from Internet.

“JORNAN” this is from Korean Word means rescue. As you can see, the logo supposes for Jordan hold a basketball. But, people create something different because, they want make people to have fun and enjoy.

Can you notice it? Jordan is in danger and helicopter carries him for help and it says on quote. "I remember your Help."





Second T-shirt is also pretty interesting word.
this word is like usually use when big guy try to scare little guy.
As you can see Big puma try to scare little puma and says IMMA.!
So that little puma get feels scary at big puma.

Social Sculpture

We had a skype with the artist from Chicago during a class.
Soule Golden, She had lots of time to do fashion works in Chicago.
While we doing interview, We all felt shy to ask some questions it also included me.

Basically what she said was that, if the people who wants to applying art university, portfolio is extremely important. Because, Art is not like show how much do i know or solve some questions like normal subjects. Art has to express and show everyone. When i heard that, i was thinking that i should think about great portfolio. Because, i personally pretty interesting in media.
I haven't decide between business course and media for my major, but i really want try to applying art university for my interest. One of my dream is working in Public Broadcast systems.
So, it'll be great chance to go art university for my dream.

Before i have to decide my school, i think i have to focus on two things. One is get set up a portfolio just in case. Second is make sure all prepare for applying business school.

The silence of Silicon Lambs

In our Global Ethics class, we read an article about Science Park in Hsinchu Taiwan. Yay ! That’s our city we live right now.

As we know, Taiwan's IT (Information Technology) improved a lot last past year and it become Taiwan's most successful products, such as Computer chips, PDP, and LCD etc.
Do you know how to make those products?

PDP and LCD is relate with semiconductor, which I want to work for my future. My dad working on Semiconductor Company and I often get a idea of semiconductor. LCD and PDP made by glass. They’re easy to break. When people making these products, they have to mix different kinds of chemicals with different pump line. That's why big company's like Samsung, LG, Hynix, TSMC, AUO, Chimei etc has different section of their factory. When they are making products, they are using tons of different kinds of toxic chemicals.

Those products are really great tools for our life now. Without any technical products, our life will have some problems. But, have you ever think about any bad situations?

Factories are actually hurting our environments right now.
For example, as I said before, for making glass, they need tons of different chemicals and a lot of wastes are also coming out too. Some factories has great systems of cleaning their waste but, some factories not.

These chemicals are different than what we usually know. In order to cleaning waste, they must have a good waste machine. If not, it's cause of water pollution. Humans can't live without fresh waters, but, if waters are polluting by chemicals, there is no answer for live. So, the country who has week law of it, they should organize law of waste chemicals.

Just like what these article said, we have huge problems about those of silicon lambs. We have to think about those issues before we start making new products. Otherwise, we are going to lose or hurt more nature and real environment.

After Reading Cat's Cradle

I think, This book is most confuse book i have read before. Especially, Last few chapters are mostly confused.

On the last few chapters, the story is going to like this.

Before Dr.H died, He gave 3 ice nine to his kids. Newt,Angela and San Lorenzo's son.

But, Newt lost his by sleeping with own Russian woman. Angela lost hers by Americans and San Lorenzo's son used his for murdering papa monzano. The story going like that Ice nine is most incredible inventions but it's really dangerous. and it suddenly made all grounds turn into ice land. But, Frank, Newt, and Jonah still alive and met bokonon at the end of chapter.

I think, this whole book telling us to do looking back what we did. Because, last message of Kurt Vonnegut was "If i were a young man, I would write a history of human stupidity; and I would climb to the top oh Mount McCabe and lie down on my back with my history for a pillow; and I would take from the ground some of the blue-white poison that makes statues of men; and I would make a statue of myself,lying on my back, grinning horrible, and thumbing my nose at You Know Who." When i read carefully of last message, Only one thing was strike me out. which is If we had great or something memorial happen, do write about it. But, if that is bad thing, don't ever try it or keep it. Because, all the place turn into ice by amazing invention called "Ice Nine".

8th grade Exhibition

It was a yesterday's Language Art class, we discussed our final project. And we decide present to all school. which time will be day A morning during all school meeting time.When I heard that, my brain was totally dead. Because, I always feel nervous and afraid at presenting to all school. I haven't done this kind of big presentation in my life before.

Next day, D-day is come which is presenting day. when I arrived school, I was so nervous. Because,I have to do presentation to all school. sigh.. yes, this is part of learning that how to do better presentation. while I going up to 5th floor, I met my classmate. He said he also felt nervous, because, he is in ESL class. But, we cheered each other for luck. As soon as I get in to the 5th floor, I signed my name on the sheet and saw Jim is setting a projector and sound systems. I felt like wanna go into little hole or hide somewhere but well, I have to do for my grade.

when the bell was rang at 8:00 AM, Mr.Ruskovich start announcements and SRC special events were came out and gave us a announcements. It was fun and they made me to forget some nervous.

Now, the time is come, Everything is ready ! I was reviewing my index card that what i'm going to say. Well, i think i was hide my nervous, But teacher knew that i'm preety nervous now. And He came to me said " You are the leader right now, don't be nervous just show them what you have." But, i couldn't forget the feeling of nervous. Because, two Jack's laughing really big, it makes me to get more pressure. Anyways, the presentation started, I'm the second turn. My presentation will be short video clip.As soon as first person finished, I connected my computer to projector and started. while I explain about my presentation, I saw lots of teacher's focusing to me, two Jack's are still laughing which I don't know why and I saw my girl friend sitting with her classmates. Wish I'm same grade as her. Becuase, She don't have this presentation today. I just wanted hide somewhere while i'm presenting. As times go about 2 minute later, I finished my sentence and showed my video clip. It was really fun movie with rock music. Everyone felt really high at that time, when I saw their face I was happy and high too. Because, I made them to fun and enjoy.

After I showed video clip, everyone gave me a big clap. I don't know what to say about that feeling. It was like i got a price of some competitions or got all "A" on my grade.I think, I learn lots of things from all school presentation. I learn that "I CAN DO IT". before I start, I didn't know I can do successfully, but after I finished, I know I can do it.

Today, I'm going to talk about what I read from N.Y Times.

As we know, last month in China Sichuan area got big earthquake. It was really bad, People lost there House, Technologies and Cities. I read a article called "Fearing Floods, Chinese Order Evacuations in Quake Area" Now, I'm going to break it as simple as i can with 5 questions

Who- The chinese authorities

What- The chinese authorities evacuating 150,000 people threatend by possible flodding from a lake in South West China by earthquake

Where- Si-chuan and Bei-chuan, China

When- May,12 Earthquake. But, there are still aftershock.

Why- The reason why Chinese Governments evacuating people is because, The level of water is rise faster and faster. And most of dams got a crevice. So, they are worry about dams are going to break.

Article Cell Phone

Cell phones are one of the greatest invention in the world. Almost every one using cell phone every time, either texting, chatting or wathing TV. We have right to use all of technology anywhere and every time. But, in my personal opinion, i don't think cell phones help for learning educations. It might be help for only some part. According to what article said, a high school in Craik, they are using cellphone's chalendar and alarm for class. But, those of things are pretty small for positive prove. Cell phone has more functions insted of chalendar and alarm for class.

One thing i was think is texting message during a class. It's really easy to do that. Most of teens remember all the cell phone key's or functions, which means it's possible to using cell phones during class and it's very rude for teacher. Students must pay attention to what teacher says.

I think, Using cell phone in school is also issue in our school too. When teachers saw some students using cell phone during school, they always yelling them to not using it.

Other then yelling or argueing between Students and Teachers, How do we solve these issues?

Our school using website called "Moodle" for cheak our schedule and works, which helps a lot for students to remember their works. Another solution is that when we saw some people using cell phone during school time, take their phones to office and give back to them when schools end. which is 3:30 for our school. Well, some people will say that taking cell phones are pretty bad. But, students must follow schools rule, All the rules are stands for following and respect.

what can you do to change the world ? Part 2

Based on what i spoke on first time, Whole my ideas are focused in Global Issues.

As we know, Global issues are pretty important now and some bad happens came to us directly.

For example, last few weeks we had bad happens in Myanmar and China.

Myanmar had huge cyclone and all peoples in Myanmar, they got into panic. Same happen in China, They had big earthquake. They lost their family, House and all the systems that can connect with community. Right now, they are scare at another disaster. All of dams got little crevices so, people now sure when does dam going to break it.

The following disasters are really scare and we can't guess when these kinds of terrible situations came to us. But, we can try to fix and change it.

Here is what we can do for our earth.

First, Make sure all the country develop some kinds of Environmental Issues.

What i mean by develop is make less pollutions. Air pollution is one of the reason why we have Global Warming. All kinds of fossil that we using everyday is cause of Air pollution. We can't stop using now. But, we can try to use less. For example, when you go out. try to use local transport systems. People might think using bus with lots of people got more CO2. But, One person drive a car and lots of people using bus at the same time, the amount of CO2 is almost same.

So, country who got weak transport systems, they must make it more organize.

Second, Try to save our resources at home.

Most of people forgot to turn off water when they brush teeth or using shampoo. these are wasiting water. another example is people usually forgot to unplug their electonic product. It's waste electricity. As you can see, lots of basic things are easy to forget our society. But, those of things are wasting resources, we don't have infinte resources, we only have amount of resources. As soon as we keep it, we can use longer.

Other then environmental issue, their are lots of solution for changing world. But, the reason why i more focused on environmental issue is becasue, Environmetal is one of the thing live together with us as a friend. as soon as we polluted them, they'll mad at us, See ? the following results are really hurt our society. Before more big happens come to us, we have to think and countrol.

Write about all school presentaion

- When i heard our task, One idea was strike me out which is write about my experience before.
But, i had to write as a 8 grade student. So, i used 8 grader's last presentaion to all school. While i wrote my story, i planned my self to do make great transitions between time by time. For example, Day before presentaion, Before presentation in the morning, During presentaion and After presentation. Also, i add some people who always laugh during all school presentation time. It sounds more like realistic. I think this activity is simmilar with report or short version of autobigography. Because, write based on what we felt during presentation. For me, it was hard to write. Because, I wasn't sure what kinds of feeling do i get usually when i have to do some presentaion in front of all school.
But, If i had more time to write, i will make short outline with some specific ideas that can help to build my feelings during presentaion and the following result will be more organize then now.

Well, this is our first time to write this kinds, wish we do more activities like this time and i want write more organizely.

Fiction on the Web #2

This time, i read two stories from Fiction on the Web.

First story called "The Lady By The Pond".
This story is like autobiography. It starts with some fleshback.
Author starts when he was with his dad and wrote lots of different stories what he had been.
So the readers can get a pretty good sence of story.

I think, style of this story is well organize by 6 traits . Because, All the character's are simple and well explain time and setting too. It doesn't matter how long is the story about. It's more important that how to follow basic 6 traits while we write a story.

Second story called "Over Coffee, Monday Morning".

While i read second story,i found pretty interest in it. Because, it's a more then 95% is same as our life. We got up in the morning and have some hair gel, stop at coffee shops and go to work.
This is way how business man doing now. and it is quite fun to compare between our real life
and story. It will be little differences between eachother.

I think, this story is really intereting. Because, it relate with our real life and well explains with some dialog too. So, people who read this story, they'll definelly looking back their life.

Student 2.0 #2

This week, i read two blogs from Student 2.0,

First story is about Computer uses in school. This post wrote by a student who are using Computer instade of text book, just like what our school doing it.

While i read his post, i was pretty interesting at some issue. Because, this issue are also in HIS right now. Which are using Messenger and Facebook things during a school time.

The following his opinion was agree at using whose of programs during school. Because, those of things are help to build a communication with other peoples. Technology is the specific methods, materials, and devices used to solve practical problems.

In my personal opinion, i agree with this guy. Because, As we using all the Technology, we have right to use some programs. Of course it's bad habit to use during a class. But, we can use during a break time or lunch time.

Second story is about Junior- senior student of High school student.

She wrote about future, dream and planning colleage life. It's quite interet to read this. Because, i'm a same situation with her right now. I have SAT this week and i have to get a great score for colleage and my dreams. I already planned for Colleage class too.

The intereting points was that "I honestly don’t know what I want to do for the rest of my life after college and grad school."

It's really simmilar with my problem. I know, i want study International Business and work for it. But, that's not my rest of life. I can do more then Business for my entire life after graduate schools. It's quite fun to think or planning my life i think. It will help to choose a job and make your life more intelligent.

Dr. Hownikker

This story is created by me.

Dr. Hownikker who won the Nobel Prize in physics and also called father of atomic bomb went to beach for having fun. He went beach with his family. They spend great time and made good memories.

But, While they having a trip, they had one episode. When Dr. Hownikker having fun in the sea, he suddenly smell something with sea and he said "Humm, This will be new chemical for new atomic bomb." a few minutes ago, he ran out to his room and he back to sea with all the material for his new project.

As times go, He spent 3 years at the same place. Everyone was shock at his new project. Because, he finally success on his new atomic bomb. But, it wasn't look like a bomb. Because, the way he design is too childish. He drew all the poketmon on his bomb. So, when it is fly, it look all the poketmon fly.

His new bomb is so famous in the world right now and he became one of the world richest people.

Asian Politics

I couldn't find a good blog for Asian Politics, Because, i think no one interesting it write about politics. But, what i found some information is like personal opinions and basic information about Asian Politics.

Asian Countries have different politic systems. But, East Asia which is Korea,Japan and Taiwan they are simmilar. Because, these countries are democrdic and all the citizens have a right to choose a presedent by election. Most of time they got 3 to 5 candidate comes out and having competition eachother. It's common way to do election.


But, those of country who are in Imperialism or comunist, they decide their presedent by either government or themselves. which look no freedom for peoples. For example, Middle-East and N.Korea. They don't have freedom to choose new presedent. They have to follow what their government do.

The Cat's Cradle #1

The main author John, He wants to call him as a Jonha and He start the novel with introduce to the Hoenikker family and the religion of Bokononism. Felix Hoenikker, he has two child.

First, Angela Hoenikker

Shs is Felix Hoenikker's tall, unattractive eldest child.

I think Angela is quite hard to understand her character. Because, All the conversation and the facts are pretty difficult to understand. So, i think i need more time to discuss about her character more with other classmates.

Second, Newt Hoenikker.

He is Felix's youngest son, Newt was a midget who flunked out of medical school at Cornell.

And i think, most of intereting was about Bokonism.
Bokonism is a religion that created by Bokonon. He hoped to turn the impoverished island of San Lorenzo into a utopia. I think next few chapters will discribe more about Bokonism and more facts on it.

This is what i got from Ch1~14. For me, i need more then 2 times to read "Cat's Cradle".
Because, the stroy he write is really hard to understand. Something happen is comeout but i sudnely gone or change to other stories. Well. i`ll figure out how i can get more in depth next time when we get new chapter for reading homework.

what can you do to change the world ?

What can you do to change the world ..?

Before i write my opinion, What do you think about the world? Do you think everything is fine? or is their any problems either Economy or Peace?

When i get that question, one word was strike me out. It is "Environmental Issue."
It is quite relate with my Global Environmental Issue just like what Mr. Loken said last class for this assignment.

As we all knows, Global Environmental Issues are pretty important right now. Last past 10 years, our Environmental was huge change by us as a Human. It makes lots of pollutions,cancer or strange weather and Those kinds of problems came back to our life.
Now, i want talk more about Environmenral Issues.

First, Ice Melting in North Pole.

Last past 10 years, our plannet changed a lot. Earth temperatures high, so it makes Ice melting and strange weather like La nina or El nino. If all the Ice is melt, sea level is getting high, so All countries like Netherland, they'll dissapear. Some other cities in US will be dissapear too. For example, New york and Sanfrancisco. They are pretty close and lower then sea. So, as soon as sea level is increase, all water will be came into cities.

Second, Pollution

All the pollution is reasoning for Environmental Issue. then where the pollution come from?

It also comes from us, Human. Most of product that we are using now is reason for pollution.

For example, driving a motorcycle and car, it cause of Air pollution. Using too much shampoo, cause of Water pollution etc.

Then do we stop using everything? No, we are still using But, when we use our product, we got to think and We can try to use less.

Let's think about Oil as a example. More then 60% of our life living with Oil or Gas. But, these things make our air bad. It makes Air pollution so they attack Ozone. Then what we can do for saving our Air? I think, we should plant more trees on street or park. Trees are pretty good plant for saving our Air. Also, some country got very poor public transport systems. We should build up on that. And when you are going some close place with your house, try to walk. Most of people in Taiwan, they using motorcycle. But, it's really bad for air. even worst then some cars.

It just a little things, try to walk more. It also great for your health.

I think, i know more then just Air pollution. But, the reason why i wrote more on Air pollution is because, most of strange things comes from our Air. If all the Air's are polluted, then how we going to breth? and are we ready for get some strange weather like sunami? We are not late, we still have a chance to fix it and we can do it. Start from little things around you !

Interest Blog #2 (Airlines)

Last time, I searched Soccer blogs. But, On this time, i searched some Airlines.

Air-lines or Air Craft's are most amazing transportation systems in the world. We can go anywhere in th world who have International Airport. Each countries have their own airline company's. For example, In Korea's biggest Air Lines are Korean Air and Asiana Airlines.

Those of two Airlines are member of world group. Korean Air is in Sky Team and Asiana Airline is in Star Alliance.

Those of groups represent world's best Air lines. The reason for best is their service is different then any other Air lines. For those of world groups have their own rules, So all the Air Lines who are in those of groups, they must follow the rule for themselves.

Although, we can save our mileage for each airlines and we can spend our mileage into same group airlines. For example, I'm member of Asiana Airlines, but i want use Thai airlines. I can still use my points. Because, Thai airline is member of Star alliance. It is same as Sky Team.

But, they are still compete eachother for best service to passenger.

I think 60% of people in the world using Air plane right now. when we taking a plane, it is intereting to know what kinds service do my plane has or what kinds of plane it is (eg. Boeing or Airbus) and take a picture of plane often too!

After Hairspray

We spend a time like 2 month for practice Hairspray musical performance. While we practice, every one felt really hard. Because, we got more line with dancing and we had a little problems between teachers and students. But, finally we did like professional. Every one enjoyed and scrim.
We still can feel that energy from Musical, just like a song "You can't stop the beat".

On March 24 Morning, Every one came into Science park Auditorium for getting idea of our stage, which was our last chance to know our position on the stage. Every one felt nervous and had a mistake. But, as soon as keep practicing, we are turn into much better and better.

On March 25 Evening, finally, the day of our first show.
We were in waiting room for make-up and hair. while we are preparing, we could hear outside noise which makes really nervous. Now, the times come, Mr.Ruskovich came to us and we start warming our voice and each student were as a one person. We promised and trusted eachother that WE CAN DO IT!!. On this moment, Mr.Ruskovich said funny jokes it makes every one laugh so we could lost felling of nervous. The jokes was "We can do it guys, Let's go and kick their butt!!."

As soon as curtain up, i saw lights and audiences. my first scene was dancing with partner.
It makes me super nervous that time. Because, I'm dancing in first line, so Every one can see me really easily. But, as soon as i start move my body, i start follow the beat like enjoying a lot.
The one thing make me a energy was all the friends. As soon as we finished each scene, we cheered each other and give them a little hugs too. On this moment, i could feel How much team buildings are important for our life.
After we finished our fist show, every one was super high. Because, we did really great and we didn't have a school on Next day.

Now, we jump onto second show which were our last show. we had a more audiences. But, we didn't feel any nervous. Because, we all knew we can do it better then our first show. So the following result were perfect. even though we had a little problems of sound systems. We didn't think about it. we just did like what we did before.

Musical, such a hard job and great memory. While we practice at school, we felt really annoying and don't feel like doing anything. But, as soon as we were on stage and finished. I miss that time. it's quite hard to stay close with all students. But, School Musical makes us as a one big family. We talked much with other grades students and talk a lot with teachers etc.

Some where in my heart, i still being on musical.

Interesting Blog

I have to much interesting on lots of things. But, i decide search some blog about Soccer.
Soccer is most famous sports in the world. Especially, Europe, South America and North East Asia. Most interesting soccer league is EPL (English Premier League) which is UK pro soccer league. On EPL 5 Korean players playing. One of my favorite player is Ji-Sung Park. He is in Manchester United. So, I went to some blog about Man Utd.

Manchester United is one of the top team in EPL and the world. Most of best player in the world, they play on that team. Last year, they won at EPL league, so they played on European League too. when people has blog on some sports, they usually wrote about their famous player and team's result. It makes me super hyper. Because, when i see my favorite player on website, i feel like go out and play some balls.

Tibet

As we know, we have big issue for having freedom of land on Tibet China.
The reason why people having demonstration is because China took Tibet as a part of China.
It is same reasoning between Taiwan and China. Taiwan is not own country, it is a part of China right now. But the different is Taiwan got their own government and they live as a own country.
But, for Tibet, all things are control by Chinese Government and the way the control is really ridiculous. they use soldiers to control some peoples and whole the life is not quite well-being.

On this moment, we can think why they having demonstration right now. Because, all the world focusing on China for 2008 Olympic in Beijing now. So, if they having big happens. they can get easily focus from all the world. So they can show their situations and they can be as a own country.

We all don't know how it will end and what happen will be in China. But all we can do is don't use any force, just try to solve by talking.

Grizzly Man

While i watching this movie, i felt two different emotions.

First, Brave
The reason why i say "Brave" is because of his personality. When he came into Alaska, he knew scare at Big Bear. But, he tried to become not scare it. which represent how his brave is.
On the middle of movie, he knew he is going to die by bear. On this part, i didn't get how and why he says he know he'll eaten by bear. But, he never give up at researching a bear and try to live with them. Every time when he came out for looking a bear, he always record that situations.
How he tried to live and talk with bear and other then bear, what kinds of animals live with him. One thing interesting was when the fox came in. Because, as soon as Timothy Treadwell and fox saw each other often, fox always follow him which makes me surprise. Because, i guess fox knows he is alone, and he will not kill a fox. So, they knew their emotions each other.

Second, Stupid
He is "Stupid". Because, he went there without anything. He didn't go there as a some researcher team or some tools that he can protect himself. If he has something with him, he won't die like that sad.

Another thought is why he going there. what i mean by this is he is a environmentalist, he knows how much bear different with human. Because, their life is not like a human, Specially, some bear like Alaska, they live as wild, they bite each other and sometimes attack humans.
He should know that information as a environmentalist.

The following these reasons, After i watch the movie, Most of time i got a two different ideas.
Either positive side or Negative side. It is hard to say why he has to be Positive or Negative.
But, One thing i can say is, he is brave and real man. He shows to all peoples in the world that how he died and by who. which give us more informations about wild life and bears.

I read a two different story from "Fiction on the web". my first story called " I am your brother" by charlie fish. The voice of this story is like diary. Because, while i read, i can notice easily that wrote him self. Specially on this quote "I cannot belive the day I've just had, it's like dream' which make me interesting too. Although, the way he use a sentence and some dialog part makes me lough.

This story is really short, less then 10 line. but the way he wrote makes me my heart is running.
Because, he wrote about his feeling while he running. what i mean is like he wrote about his feeling by each miles. so it makes reader an get a feeling of how running is hard.

Fastfood Nation

As we begin on Second semester, We are talking about “Do animals can feel the emotions?” and We watched movie called “Fast Food Nation”. On this movie they mentioned one big fast-food restaurants life. what i mean by life is
“How do they get meat ?” Everyone knows all the meats for Ham-Burger is come from lots of different farms. and on the movie, Don Anderson is the Mickey’s fast food restaurant director. he went to one slaughterhouse who supplies Mickey’s. During his visit, He discovers the horrible truth behind a simple hamburger. the true story is not like what we thought it. he discovers that the terrible production system involves the exploit of Mexican illegal immigrants. it is not only the meat crushed in the mincing machine. But also, it is all our society and life now. As soon as they get into America, they are staying at own room with around 10 peoples. All guys and some women going work to factory. But most of women stay at house and they sells their body for get some money. On this moment, i feel very upset. because, they sells their body for getting money. they won’t having a sex with anyone. i saw this happen in real life, sometimes when i look at some news, they mentions lots of south asian women sells their body for getting money. that’s not good habitant for human. i know it is one way to get money for them but as we know that is illegal, i think the world organization should help them to get a job. such as UN. they should work with that kinds of peoples.

Do animal have emotion?

1.Do we have an ethical responsibility toward animals?
- I think we have good responsibility of animals. Because, we all know what we can do and what we can’t do. For example, we can’t eat all kinds of animals in the world. The following reason are religion, disease etc. also most of country who have great rule of animals, when they see some animal accident (car crash,lost their group etc..) people or some animal organization help them to fix it. Although, animal extinction are problems in the world. So, each country made appointment of animal. So we can’t hunt or eat that kinds of animals.

2.Do animals have emotions? Give examples if possible.
- Yes, animal also have a emotions. I usually watch some TV programs that related animal. they always show to us a example of animal accidents on our life. Some animals who lives on city. For example, little dogs has lots of car accident. and when they got any kinds of accident, look at their eyes. their eyes going big and tears near the eyes. which means they actually feels pain. and here is another case, sometimes people who have a pet on their house, if they are no going out with them. they feel stuffy and every time stay in front of window and looking outside. So these kinds of examples tell us animals have emotions.

THE GOD MUST BE CRAZY

While i saw this movie, Only one idea was strike me out. That is about culture.
Most of time on movie, they mentioned between bush man’s life and our modern culture. Most of time bush man’s life is living with nature and clean.
so, they couldn’t have a chance to get either some technical life. in the movie,
when airplane is cross over the bush man’s town, Pilot throw away one bottle of coke. and one of the bush man took the bottle and start making more useful to them. which means, they start begin to using more technical tools for them. But, as times ago, they starts looking that tools every time and arguing each other. it is examples of how takers doing it. when takers got a power and wealth, most of time they fighting or arguing each other. because, they always thinks themselves. Now, as we can notice, bush man’s life didn’t use those of tools and one of the bush man thought this tool is not great tools for them, and he thinks that tool must far away from their society. So, the time’s ago, he leaves their town for throw away a Coke bottle. while he trip he saw lots of things. Animals, environment. nature etc. But, most huge thing was different society. His experiences of new society is starts with hunting animals in National Park. He hunts a something to eat, but one little kid saw that and the kid says like bush man did wrong and called cops. but, the bush man still didn’t understand why they keep saying bush man did wrong on it and the cops arrested him into jail. But the bush man still couldn’t understand why he did wrong. This is when the bush man entered the Takers’ world. He saw all kind of civilized things such as cars, guns…etc. Even though he entered the Takers world, he still lives like a Leaver. as we can see the most sadness? parts when bush man and scientist and his friends are saying good bye to each other, He gave a money to bush man but he still don’t know how to use that. but he leaves with money but while he walking back to his town, he throw money. because, he had a hard experiences on that. that’s why he still lives like a leavers.
While i watch this movie, most of time i felt some explain from “Ishmael” about the culture and Takers, Levers' life. Takers as people often referred to as "civilized." Particularly, the culture born in an Agricultural Revolution that began about 10,000 years ago in the Near East; the culture of Ishmael's pupil. Leavers as people of all other cultures; sometimes referred to as "primitive." and A story as an interrelation between the gods, man, and the Earth, with a beginning, middle, and end.
Ishmael goes on to point out that by living in the hands of the gods, man is subject to the conditions under which evolution takes place. Australopithecus became Homo by living in the hands of the gods-- Man became man by living in the hands of the gods-- "by living the way the bush men of Africa live; by living the way the Krenakarore of Brazil live... Not the way the Chicagoans live, not the way Londoners live." "In the hands of the gods is where evolution happens." According to the Takers' story, creation came to an end with man. "In order to make their story come true, the Takers have to put an end to creation itself-- and they're doing a damn good job of it”
Mother culture teaches that, before the revolution, human life was devoid of meaning,was stupid, empty and worthless. pre-Revolutionary life was ugly.(From ch.11). and the book says the Leavers would, Throughout history, the only way the Takers have found to tear them away from that life is by brute force, by wholesale slaughter. In most cases, they found it easiest just to exterminate them.
So, this is what i found some connections while i watch the movie.

2nd Class Discussion

The following the explanation of laws on the book, we can connect with our main points easily. Our main points, Taker and Leaver are great examples of the laws.
Why it is great examples? Ishmael was talking about created diversity and prevented war with each other in the world but, Takers always broke the rules and take everything from leavers. It happens a lot in our past centuries. the biggest example is war. and it still has it. Our last century, we had a 2 big world war by some takers. because, they broke the rules of the respectful and this problems are still comes around our world. The reason for we having a war now is because of getting sources
Also the takers investigated in agriculture for food and had killed everyone. i think the law creates diversity and the takers had broken the law.

WAL-MART

Wal-Mart is a big and famous market in US and world. most of people thinks Wal-Mart is great. because, all the product is cheap. But, have you think about that? Why Wal-Mart’s products are cheap? it all came from cheap labors and it polluted our planet. and on the TV comer-show they always said cheap products and good products. so it makes people to keep buying it. but the problem is people were buying products, they never thought of that the low price were came from bad stuffs. and it makes our planet weird. if people keep buying that, Wal-Mart have to make more and more, it makes our planet getting much bad. this is one example of Global Warming. earth temperatures getting high and ice melting. if these things keep going on it, we can’t live in this planet. so in my opinion, before we buying something at Wal-Mart or buying some low price products we have to think first. this is our country and planet, we have to save it for us and our generations.

This two little quote is from during her talks on Ted. While i watching this clip. i found something connection with "Ishmael"
First, i found "Captivity"
Basically, being captives is related with on our society and the world. while her talks, she mention ed different cultures and different society. For example, people who lives in jungle and people who lives in city. Jungle people, they living with nature and all the resourses came from nature. which means also can be a humming nature.
on the "Ishmael" we talks about humming in our culture and society.
and now, i can find something relationship between captivity and humming.which is both are talking about our culture and society. But, it also we can think about what things we changed between past and now as a Takers and Leavers.

Second, i can connect with Global Environment Issues class as a Ecological Footprint. Jane also talks about Ecological Footprint. The reason she talks that is, since our technology is become more improve and give us a intelligent life, our nature starts disappear.
pollution, using resource is biggest reason for disappearing nature. Then, what should we have to do now? let's think about that, how made this problem? right, Human did it. which means, we can make less pollution. right now, we are the only one who can change the world. all things in our hand.

Student Outcomes

I as a Effective Communicators asked some ideas that i don't understand while we talks about some strategies to my classmates. and I as a critical thinker thought some sentences and kind of looking back what i learned and start compare. i as a Community Contributor and Active leaner shared my opinion with Jack. So, These reasons help me to get on a Person on high characters.

After reading student 2.0

I read article about learning. while i read, i found some interesting word called "Ignorance"
they said "Ignorance is the lack of knowledge, the inability to understand something without guidance from an outside force." we as a human, when we doing some work or learning, we can't do 100% every time. On this moment, people who starts ignoring that person, that's not respectful for being a human. For example, in school, each student have different level of understanding or getting a idea of learning new stuff. but if one of the teacher starts ignore that kinds of student, that student can't improve themselves. But now we use most incredible invent called "INTERNET" for learning and researching. and now some teachers want student use more internet for learning. But it doesn't mean teacher's can't teach anymore. we all still needs teacher's teach and care of students. and some students feel that is more good decisions for them.
So, in my personal opinion, we have to use both at the same time. when we searching some information, do it but, more focusing on what the teacher explain and ask for it.

Book review Strategies

When we read some summaries of book, we can easily notice some book review. It is different with book summary. Book review is after we read a book, we write our opinion or about the book. when we read book reviews from some famous web-sites, we thinks that "How to write good book review?"

Most important is try to get ideas of book. Either authors thinking or that the story try to telling us. it is based on note taking or how much we get the story. But, one thing we have to notice is try to make a mind-map.

Mind-map is great tools for preparing writhing. Because, as soon as we put all the ideas on it, we can see whole ideas as a one paper and it helps to organize the sentences. Last semester, we wrote movie review, I used mind-map for organize my writhing and it helps a lot. It's easy to put points and well organized.

Reading strategy #3

Today, we talks about most important things while we reading. the following ideas are Characters, Setting, Most Important Word, Theme and Conflict. Character is basically a things become a main. for example, it can be a people.animal or place. Setting is the where the place take the story. Most important word is telling which word can represent the story as a one word, it is simmilar with theme. Conflict is arguing or fighting between agreement or disagreement.

I think this 5 ideas are most important for reading a book. Because, those of 5 ideas helps to understand story and easy to make a summary by my self.

Reading and Prediction #2

When we read lots books, peoples feel really hard to read and predict. Because, some sentences are too hard or some vocabulary.

But their is a one good helping solution. which is "Summary". Summary is really help for before reading a book or while reading a book. Because, when we read a summary of the book, we can get sort of idea of what the book is about, main characters or something big situation etc.
which make easy to understand book.

Specially for me, my english is second language, so i need a lots of time to understand read a english book. So, i always use summary for get some ideas of my book.

Reflection on the reading strategy

For me, i think it depends on what kinds of book i read. actually, it is really hard to predict a story when i read a book. Especially, some kinds of fantasy,Ratiocination and myth. Sometimes it makes me exciting to guessing what happen will be come up, but when we look at the other way is we correct on guessing and know what happen it is. which makes less interesting.
The one book i reading now during English class called "The world without us" it is currently comes out on world. As you can guess looking at title it is about our world's with some issues.
this book is much like scientific books. As soon as look into a book, easy to notice some story of generations and how does our life is changed last past years.
For me, reading this book with predict is hard. because, it is not a story or act. it is a scientific nonfiction. i can think about the image, but not the predict.

Reason for doing blog

1. To connect with other people
Blog is one of the great tools for connect between people to people. as we doing our blog our self, we can talk about each people's life and new friends.
2. To be heard
Write some ideas, comments and story which tell to everyone who visit my blog that who i am and what do i know.
3. Absorb and pass on informations
Get more information by sharing our ideas with people who are using blog is great tools for getting absorb informations.
4. Organize thoughts
As soon as we start using blogs, we can make either our ideas or thought more organize. Because, people's are easy to forget some ideas easily.

What i felt on our Global Ethics class.

This is my first blog entry and i’m going to talk about what i felt on our Global Ethics class. For the past month, we saw and spoke about lots of Global issues. the following results. we found one key word called “CULTURE” when we see that word, most of people just think culture is for fun, enjoy etc.. but as soon as think or read a Ishmael book, we can think different ways. for example, how does it different our culture and our mother culture. it also same happen at me too. before i learn this, i thought culture is just culture. sometimes fun or enjoy. but after i learn it i starts think more deep.

Arctic Tale

While I watching this movie, One word was strike me out. "Families". We saw one Polar Bear family and group of see la. When the world "Families" strike me out, I also found similarity with human. Because, Human also care a lot at family. Specially, When parent think their kids.
As we can see on the movie, polar bear family always trip to find foods. But, It is hard to find some foods in North pole. The reason will might caused by global warming. as soon as global warming is increase, ice starts melting and all the environmental is change.
One day, they finally found a food on the ground. But, that's male polar bear's. Female polar bear were try to eat, but male polar bear keep scare her away. On this part i didn't understand. Because, They know female polar bear is also same kinds of animal. only the gender is different.
But, the female bear didn't give up at food, she keep tried to eat it. so finally, The male bear understood her and let her to eat. I think on this part we can find a emotion of the animal. When we see some really poor face, all of our emotion felt sad and start caring them. so i think male bear understood and felt that feeling.

As we wrote about animal emotions first class of Second semester, they know feeling of sad, happy, depress etc. animal also caring their group just like human do. when we see sea la on the movie, when someone fart it, they start yelling some strange sounds. which means, they know either smells bad or feel cool. so, every single feelings that animal can feel is telling us animal do have emotions.
